SunPower has a solution to the problem of solar panel cleaning by introducing a robotic panel cleaning technology that can help increase energy yield at a cheaper cost as compared to conventional cleaning methods and using fewer resources as reported by SunPower.

Manual panel cleaning needs large crews in remote locations and also results in uneven and less than thorough results. Day cleaning can compromise energy production while deploying them at night will have safety risks and possible damage to hardware and other equipment.

Depending on the size of the solar power plant, you can just deploy a crew of 3 personnel, 2 robots, and a truck to do the job. A 20-megawatt solar plant can be cleaned in one 10 hour shift. That is 20x faster than manual cleaning with 75% less water and a consistent result.
