South Australian Power Prices Rise, Off Grid Becoming More Attractive

Solar panels and home battery systems may be the best way for South Australians to avoid record breaking electricity price hikes as reported by 9News.

These claims are made by Carbon and Energy Markets director Bruce Mountain, who is challenged by Treasurer Tom Koutsantonis.

Koutsantonis says:

  • The state government is working on a $500 million plan to increase the competition between different power companies.
  • The PM has ordered CEOs of big energy companies to meet and discuss overwhelming electricity prices and what can be done about it.
  • The Australian government is finding ways to make power providers move their customers to more affordable contracts.
