Queensland Solar Farm Receives $55 Million Grant

Oakey is the new site of the next Queensland Solar Farm that will receive $55 million grant from the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC), as reported by Energy Matters.

The corporation will further add this to its initial $19.5 million commitment to the 80-megawatt farm. The project will be delivering enough renewable energy to power around 24,000 Queensland households.

The CEFC has committed about $495 million in grants for large-scale solar projects in Queensland. The farm will also generate 120 construction jobs and construction will start in the first quarter of 2018 and will be connected by the end of the year.
