Industry Leaders Partner Up For Australia’s Largest Wind Farm

GE and Powering Australian Renewables Fund (PARF – made up of AGL and Queensland Investment Corporation) partner up for Australia’s largest wind farm in Queensland. GE will supply and install 123 wind turbines for the Coopers Gap wind farm project located in Cooranga North as reported by Ecogeneration.

Once completed in 2019 the 453-megawatt wind farm will:

  • Produce around 1.5 gigawatt-hours of renewable energy every year.
  • The collected energy will be enough to power more than 260,000 average Australian homes.
  • Reduce CO2 emissions by 1,180,000 tonnes every year.
