Bicycles Are Upcycled from Salvaged and Recycled Car Parts

Lola Madrid creative agency of Spain has designed a line of unique upcycled bikes. Bicycled Bikes parts are made from recycled junkyard cars. The car handles are reconstructed to be bicycle handlebars and the interior vinyl is given a new life as a bike seat upholstery. The unique bicycles take clean, green and human-powered transportation to the next level by recycling gas user into a clean and environmentally friendly ride according to Inhabitat.

Although the line has yet to be completed, Lola Madrid provided a good video that shows just how they change each car part into a new element of the bicycles. The bicycles can be made entirely, from one or several cars salvaged from junkyards. Using the scrap metals, each frame is entirely unique and giving the riders the pride of having something truly unique and incomparable to something else.

Some upcycled part uses are obvious, car seats, become car seats and the car handles are made into handle bars. Car engines are stripped of their transmission belts and then cutting them down into strips to make them into bicycle driving belts. The blinking turn signals is upcycled into the bike’s safety reflective lights, while other car upholstery is woven around the handlebars to make them comfortable for any riders. The upcycling project is still in the works, but anyone who’s interested can sign to be notified when the bikes are available.
