Australian Solar Industry’s Gift Of Green power To Generous Bear Maker

The Australian Solar Industry has come together to donate a rooftop PV system to Australia’s most generous and internationally known maker of teddy bears, Campbell Remess or “Bumble”. He is the 12-year-old boy behind Project 365.

A 5-kilowatt solar PV system was installed at the Remess family address in Hobart, Tasmania with 20 Enphase S270 micro inverters and 20 Suntech Power 260 watts PV solar modules provided by Suntech. Enphase, Home Efficiency Group and Platinum Edge Electronics made contributions to the installation and certification of the solar system.

The project was managed on a pro-bono basis by Leeson group and Universe solar. The solar PV system is expected to generate an estimated 6.4 megawatt-hours of energy. The given power will offset consumption of the laser cutting and sewing machines used by Campbell in creating his teddy bears and other toys that are given away at children’s hospitals and especially to comfort individuals going through hard times.

Universe Solar business development manager Adam Christie led the initiative when he learned of Project 365 by Campbell in 2016. Nathan Dunn of Enphase Asia-Pacific said that Enphase is delighted to support the project.
